I agree that protein is overrated. I've read that vegetarians/vegans can get ample protein, sometimes more than enough, just from veggies alone. Check out www.hacres.com for more info. They have done alot of research on the protein thing. BTW, I'm vegan, and eat mainly raw fruits and veggies, very little processed foods, and am very healthy
Definitely whole grains! Not Wonderbread.... but REAL stuff... like freshly milled whole wheat flour.... or kamut and spelt and barley and more....
