My 22 mo old DS has a passionate love for goldfish and little snackies along those lines. I feel like he's getting way too much sodium that way, plus all that pre-packaged manufactured "goodness". Anyone have recipes for homemade crackers? I give him fruits and veggies too of course, but sometimes crackers are good to have on hand.

I've tried this recipe for Ritz Crackers and it's super good, but definitely takes some time investment to make and goes really fast: Ritz Crackers.

This is the best muffin recipe I've ever tried: Best Muffins Ever

I will also make protein bars with fruit purees (whatever I have on hand) and a couple scoops of protein powder, some sweetener, flour (I use a gluten free blend) baking powder, and a few spices.  DD loves them.

Other snacks that are popular at our house:

Sea weed

Yogurt (we get full fat plain and mix it with naturally sweetened jam)

Hard boiled eggs

Cold chicken pieces

Bacon (or pancetta for a super special treat)

Home made trail mix (nuts, seeds, dried fruit)

Larabars

String Cheese

Cheese slices

Hummus and Veggies

Fruit and vanilla yogurt

Kefir

Rice crackers (probably healthier than goldfish, we get them from trader joe's)

Chips and guacamole

Sweet potato fries

Smoothies

Grits mixed with jam (DD LOVES this)

Slices of fried polenta (the kind from Trader Joe's that comes in a tube shape, we cut it and fry it up-soooo good!)

Stay-at-home Mama to my fabulous DD (10/08)  and DS (9/12) and wife to my just-as-fabulous DH
