Beans + tomatoes (acid) - yes or no?

It slows down the cook time only. The more acidity, the more longer the cook time. It could be that she found that the amount of tomatoes (just 14 oz) didn't affect the recipe too much. If in doubt, add the tomatoes towards the end. I would, as I like my beans extra soft and creamy.

Hmmm. Now looking at the recipe and instructions again, is that enough boiling time for dried kidney beans? I know there is a toxin in kidney beans, and they need to be boiled properly. Not sure a minute or two cuts it?
