Hi there
This might be a stupid question, but I don't know so...
Can my 9.5 month old eat cooked chickpeas?

Thanks
Emma

My DD's pediatrician recommended navy beans, white beans, etc. well cooked at 9 mos. He said to hold off on kidney beans, etc. til 1 year.

Hummus... my baby liked hummus on toast at that age.

I'd just make sure they were really soft. If you're still not comfortable, maybe slice them in half?

DS has LOVED chick peas as a snack since about 12 months. I think we started with black beans, since they were a bit smaller, and easier to mush.

I find if they are well-cooked, they are easy to slip the skins off and pop in half. My ds likes them--but I think he likes hummus even more. Now he's into finger foods, and likes to "dip dip" stuff, so we use hummus for that.
