My sons birthday is next week, and we are going to make this really cute fire engine cake for him. I need to use red frosting of course, and i really don't want to use the yucky artificial dye coloring for it. I have called around numerous health food stores asking them if they sold natural food coloring, but no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas what I could use?
The cake will mostly be red, but i also need black for the outline.
Thanks

I had a friend do this with beet juice, for the red, at least. I've personally never done this, and I don't know whether she juiced her own beet, or how she did it. I'm not much help here, I know.

I'm clueless on the black.
