I used to be a Superstore shopper. We still go sometimes. Mostly because they have really good brown rice in bigger bags. They also have a really good ethnic section. I always feel like a freak when I shop there. People look at my healthy cart full in disgust" what are YOU MAKING???" with a sneer. Now we shop locally. I am thrilled about the produce section. We pay more but I feel a lot less guilty !!

Yep, but I sure can't get on a soapbox about it! We're not much better. At least we don't buy Homestyle bakes, soda and chips anymore! I'm still a sucker for frozen pizza though, MMMMMmmmmm...Albertons's Essensia brand pizza is SOOO good, better than delivery even, I'm serious. Best pizza I've ever had!!

And then if I go to the healthfood store, the only things I buy are Almond milk, bags of almonds, and rice noodles with red curry paste. They asked who in my family was gluten and lactose intolerant last time I was there LOL!! I told them nobody, we're just weird.

We're getting healthier though. At least one meal per day now is made with ingredients. I used to live off hotpockets (no joke) and our "homecooked" weekend meal was Homestyle Bakes.

Sometimes I look. I don't know if I really compare, but just like to see what others are buying. Some have lots of processed type foods, others are way healthier than I am, but for the most part, I get into a rut and like some inspiration. I generally do groceries once a month, so I'm sure many people think I'm a glutton when they see how much meat, poultry, fish etc. I stock up on as well as all my pantry essentials, produce and dairy. I get fresh fruits and veggies each week though. I buy whole milk for the kiddos because 2 of 'em are under 2 years and my dd is underweight so her doctor has recommended keeping her on whole milk for a while. I sincerely hope not everyone looking at my cart has judged me as harshly as some here have judged others. Wow.
