My 16 month old loves pasta, and not much else. I've been sneaking veggies in there by putting them in the sauce. Like spinach, broccoli, carrots and mushrooms, steamed.

I was wondering about other vegetables & if they'd be good steamed. Specifically, squash, eggplant, that sort of thing.

I steam squash (zucchini, crookneck, yellow) all the time. I haven't tried eggplant but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
