I don't know if this is okay or not, but I see other mothers in my mommy/baby class giving their babes teething biscuits and they're all between 6 and 8 months old. My dd has her two bottom teeth in and I think two more bottom teeth are coming in any day now, but no top teeth (weird, I know). I want to give her a biscuit, but I'm not sure if she's ready for it or not, and I'm not sure what to look for. If I give it to her, I know she'll take it and "eat" it (as much as a two-toothed infant can). I'm worried about allergies mostly, I think. What do y'all do? Have you given biscuits to a babe so young? She sits up really well totally unsupported, crawls llike a pro, and is beginning to cruise on the furniture. She's started solids (bananas, cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots, and whatever misc. stuff from my plate that I happened to give to her like Cream of Wheat and various veggies/fruits and even a tiny taste of tofu once), and she eats everything and whines for more. I think she'd enjoy the biscuit. Her incoming teeth seem to bug her so much sometimes. She's had small amounts of various allergy foods and she's been just fine. Unless you know of a teething biscuit that has no wheat. Sorry this is so long, I just keep thinking of things as I type.

Any feedback?!? TIA!

Most babies just suck and chew on the biscuits, and I think most of it ends up on their faces/hands. So I wouldn't consider it a big part of their dietary intake. I think if your babe is already enjoying little bites of food and she is having some teething discomfort, they're worth a shot.

My dd really enjoyed the Healthy Time brand biscuits, which are wheat free and come in maple and vanilla flavors, if I remember correctly.

Wife to a wonderful dh and mom to four beautiful kiddos, dd (3/04):, ds1 (1/06), ds2 (10/08), and ds3 (7/10)
