I just got my current issue of Vegetarian Times and they have a recipe that is tempting me! Its called Savory Pumpkin Corn Cakes. But the thing is it calls for Pumpkin Puree. Is it the same stuff from the can, that you make pies out of, or something different? Anyone know? I really want to try these for dinner tonight and need to know before I go to the store.
Yep. You can make it from scratch or you can use a can. Make sure to read the labels, "Pumpkin" should be the only ingredient. You can get organic canned pumpkin puree, even. Some cans come with the pie spices already mixed in, so look for that.
