We have been avoiding wheat for my dd until she is one year old b/c we hear that it can increase chances of wheat allergies. I'm confused about if that should include spelt flour. Comments?

If you're talking in terms of preventing exposure to reduce the chance of allergies-yes. It is a relative of wheat and contains gluten, the protein that most people react to in the case of allergies.
