Dh and I do most of our shopping at Whole Foods Market. We love their variety of cheeses. Most of the cheeses are unpasturized. Are these safe for my one year old dd to eat?

Hi,
We only eat raw cheeses.
My ds has been eating them since 13 months.
It is actually better, it is alive.
Check out www.lilipoh.com they have a great article on raw milk.

well, as someone who just got hit with salmonella, i'd say hell no. i understand the argument behind raw milks and cheeses, but you won't see them in this house.

i got a dandy bit of listeria or something similar from the soft unpasteurized european cheese i had while pg from wild oats- i loved the raw milk cheeses from alta-dena dairy when i could get 'em straight from the source (i trusted their cleanliness)- but i would still use caution (i.e., pregnant women, children, & the immuno-compromised maybe ought to stick to pasteurized).
