How do you dispose of oil that you used for deep frying? I don't think it should go down the drain. Does it go in the trash can?

HELP!

I pour it into a milk carton, close the top of the carton, and put in the trash can.

If you put it into a container that you're afraid will let it leak out of the trash can, put it in the refrigerator so that the oil solidifies. Then take it out on trash day. (Put a note on the trash can to remind you so it doesn't sit in the fridge for weeks! )
