I know you are not supposed to give honey to a young babe. But what about me if I'm nursing? Can I have tea with honey? What about a bread flavored with honey?

Thanks!!

there is no problem with you eating honey when you're nursing. Only if baby eats unpastuerized honey directly.

This is what I found.

Quote:
Honey is not a problem for mom to eat. The gut flora of adults and children over a year old are able to fend off the botulism spores that may be present in honey, and render them harmless. Since the spores would be killed in your gastrointestinal tract, they would not make it into your bloodstream and therefore cannot be present in your milk. www.kellymom.com
