I have no advice about a rice steamer, I've never used one. I have made sweet sticky rice however. It's a different kind of rice - glutenous/sweet rice that I found in a asian grocer - if you have a good one they might be able to help you make it too! The steamer used to make it looks like a bamboo cone - like a reusable coffee filter kwim? You need a pot that will hold it high enough above the water and with a lid that fits tightly - sort of a tall skinny stock pot, I've seen them sold online. Here's a link I found with good instructions - it say's you can do small amounts without the special steamer cone. This is a super addictive dessert, good luck!
