I am still working on my backyard party menu, and thought biscuits would be a real nice idea. I am looking at the Angel Biscuite- does anyone have a real good one to share? I wld like it even more if the batter can be prepared in advance, then baked and served the morning of the party.

Many, many thanks!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe and it always works

It is from Cookin' Southern vegetarian style by ann jackson and the page of my cookbook is almost destroyed from using it so much... they are vegan but could be made with butter or healthy shortening too. I'm sure it would work with the healthier baking powder (non-aluminum) too maybe you wanted a good milky recipe...i don't know. I hope you like it:

2 cups flour
4 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
4 T soy margarine
3/4 c soymilk, milk, or water

Stir dry ingredients together (I ALWAYS USE A FOOD PROCESSOR)
work in the margarine
make a well and add the liquid all at once
stir quickly
preheat to 450 degrees
gently knead on well-floured board
roll to 1/2 inch thick, and cut into shapes (with cookie cutter, glass, whatever)

ungreased baking sheet 10-12 minutes until brown on bottom

LIKE I SAID I ALWAYS USE A FOOD PROCESSOR...super fast and easy, and we always cut them into crazy shapes. I shortened the wording of the recipe as she is really verbose (imagine more than I am LOL)
