I would like to offer yams to my boys (9 mos) for self feeding. What is the best way to prepare them?

Thanks!

Yams as in what Americans call yams (orange sweet potatoes) or tropical yams?

For self-feeding I'd say make sweet potato fries. Just peel the sweet potato/yam, slice it thinly like for steak fries, and coat the slices with olive oil and a little bit of salt. Then spread them on a baking sheet and bake at around 400 degrees until they're soft (maybe 20-25 minutes). Yummm.

I would steam them, cube them, and them roll them in nutritional yeast so they are easier to gram.
