Right, it is labeled as a whole bunch of other things. Yeast extract, vegetable extract and "spices" being a few. And natural foods are not exempt. It is in everything.
I am trying to figure out what the difference is between natural glutamate and msg. DH read up on it more and apparently it has something to do with the chemical structure, something about one is right and the other one left. Yes, I am a science genius.
The Marmite didn't affect me nearly as much as msg normally would (I get loopy), but I did get the headache.
PV, google MSG and you will find a whole lot of info on it. http://www.msgtruth.org is one place to start.
The problem I have with the msgtruth website is that they don't seem to differ much between glutamate naturally occuring in vegetables, milk (which by the way its in breastmilk too) and various other natural foods and processed MSG.
I get headaches from MSG, but not from the natural occuring glutamates that is regular occuring in foods.
