Anyone done a one or two day liquid fast? I'm not trying to lose weight (gave that rat race up ages ago...ugh). But I feel like I need to do a small detox and give my body a break from the digestion. I have kidney issues so I cannot do a proper colon cleansing like Dr Natura or the like.

I've read a lot about the benefits of it but I'm wondering if anyone has any actual experience.

Aloe juice?

Psyllium husks? I like this with some sort of fruit juice. Just make sure you drink tons of liquid with this, really gets things moving.

Can you ingest bentonite clay?

err, i was wondering something similar: do you think my body could cope with milk-making for a 7mo babe if i were to do a 24-36 hour fast?? i seriously need to "re-set" my stomach and tastebuds

I've been reading about it but I can't get a real "menu" that is consistent. Alot of sites say, "fruit and vegetable juices" but raw vegetables are high residue foods so how is that helpful?

I really don't know what to buy.

Okay where is this firefaery? We need some "professional" advice!!

What about doing the 10 day master cleanse? I'm still looking for a buddy. I need someone to do it with me and DH refuses (he thinks it's stupid).

I can't. I have kidney disease so I can't do anything like that. I've always wanted to but my nephrology team says NO WAY! They did okay a one day liquid fast, for 4 weeks. So one day a week for 4 weeks in a row.

i like your name OP, but to answer your question. FME any time fasting eases the body's strain. I personally try to take 3+ days of water fasting when possible to ease strain on the liver,etc., but I don't think this takes expensive concoctions from healthfood stores. many people will do a diluted juice fast for a day or so, transition to water for a while, go back to juice and maybe light broth for another day or so. Honestly, staying simple will be just fine for you....the body is amazing when allowed to do its thing.
