So I want to make fruit leather. Book says use plastic wrap or fancy dehydrator sheets. I know about plastic now so that's out. Blithely tried wax paper and lather wouldn't come off.

What are non plastic, non expensive options for sheets in food dryer?

you can try parchment paper, it tends to hold up better and stick less than wax paper. I get the unbleached kind at whole foods.
