I do buy fresh sometimes, like whatever is local at the farmer's market, but day-to-day we eat lots and lots of frozen veggies. I would say we eat 1-2 bags a day of frozen veggies, like peas, corn, asparagus- its just so convenient. We only eat fresh ones maybe once or twice a week (with the exception of spinach, which I sneak into EVERYTHING).
Is there anything bad about them? I know canned can have some issues and we don't use canned veggies, but I was just curious if there was something not so good about frozen fruits and veggies... TIA!
I freeze veggies from my garden every harvest. I only wish I had enough to last me through the whole winter.

: Veggies frozen soon after picking have been found to have more nutrients than veggies picked fresh but shipped long disances. As soon as veggies are picked they begin to lose nutrients (sometimes profoundly, sometimes not so much, depdning on how long they have been sitting). So it's entirely possible that your frozen veggies from the market may have more nutrients than the fresh ones you are buying at the market.
Enjoy your frozen veggies. And when you can get or grow fresh, enjoy those as well.
Nutritionally they are the same as fresh, I believe. But as the OP said, they often travel many miles to get to your store freezer, which creates a significant environmental footprint. But it can be challenging to eat local year-round (which in my case would be squash, turnip, parsnip and the occasional limp carrot).
I buy frozen too. Sometimes it's just easier, but I wouldn't say I go through more than a bag worth in a week. I used to use much much more though.
I recently found the seasonal farm I buy from sometimes also has their own produce frozen! They have expanded a little and now have an indoor place with local honey, etc, and they have frozen things so I am VERY happy about that. I don't need to stock up for a while but when I do I'll probably buy a ton for quick meals

I sneak spinach in to everything too
. I puree a ton of it and freeze in to ice cubes. I've even put them in chocolate cookies LOL.
Nutritionally frozen are inferior to local fresh, but generally superior to storebought fresh (which has been shipped). Frozen is also superior to canned. My main concern with frozen veggies is with corn, which is often a GMO veggie, so I only buy frozen organic.
We do eat alot of frozen veggies. Its impossible to get fresh local produce here in the winter so we don't have much choice. I do keep some frozen stir fry mixes in the freezer for nights when I don't have time.
