okay it started simply enough as a pregnancy craving, now i am addicted, at least one shiny foil package day, some days more.

so i need an easy breakfast/snack that will be sweetish, but not that sugar high. and less chock full of ingredients i can't say.

is there any sort of organic version of a poptart or even toaster strudel. or a recipe that i can make?

help me stop eating those stupid things.

There IS an organic vegetarian pop tart thing. I don't remember what they're called but I bought them because it'd been so long since I'd had a pop tart because they're not vegetarian. They have so many flavors even pomegranate.

this is just the first thing that came up when I googled them, but I can find them at grocery stores and costco enjoy!

Yes, they're made by Nature's Path. I've never had them b/c I'm GF so I can't vouch for taste. I'd imagine they're still not great for you, but better than a traditional poptar.

How about a bagel (whole wheat?) with cream cheese and marmalade?

As a former pop-tart addict, the only thing that worked for me was to quit cold turkey. Even today I was tempted to buy them when I was at the store. I could hear them from two isles away. "I'm here!! Over here!! You know I love you!! I'm your friend!! YES!! There you are, staring at me!! BUY ME!!! I'm so gooooooood!"

Oooh was I drawn to them, I really wanted to get them, they were even ON SALE. I could buy them and they'd even be cheap! But I had to remember the last time they were my friend and the big jeans and the sugar crashes, and the incredibly guilt from eating something so terrible for me.

I walked away.

The moral of the story....they really aren't your friends. Just let them go and find something else completely unrelated to pop-tarts to have for breakfast. It really is easier than you think.

My name is Pancakes and I'm a Pop-Tart addict.
