How do you take your (liquid form) cod liver oil? Do you mix it in with food? If so, what food is good for mixing the cod liver oil in?

We take it straight off the spoon (liquid form). Our favorite is from Kirkman Labs and is flavored lemon/lime. My boys love it (ask for seconds at least so I divide up their doses among their helpings) and even my mom, who is very squeamish about the thought of CLO takes it without a problem.

I just take it straight out of a spoon, like the PP. We use Carlson's lemon flavored. It's not very lemony, but at least it's not very fishy, either.

For now I have the non-flavored, fishy kind. Anyone have an ideal as to what food I can use to mix it in?

I take mine off the spoon and chase it with a bit of juice. I think the most important thing is to wash it down completely with some other liquid so it doesn't just sit in the back of your throat. Maybe mix it with the juice. Or yogurt?

We take Green Pasture's unflavored right off the spoon. I chase it with a slice or orange or a bit of OJ, my husband just swallows it, and my 15 month old points at it again as if to say, "More, please!"

So it really doesn't taste all that bad?

My kids and I both take it off a spoon. I pour a glass of apple juice, everyone holds their own little cup, then we drink it off the spoon, and before swallowing drink a sip of apple juice while holding breath and swallow. Can't taste a thing. My 2 and 4 year old love it, they think it's fun lol.

I mix mine with a couple ounces of milk or juice. It doesn't taste bad at all, but I can't stand the smell. Way too fishy. Once I find my big bag of empty capsules I plan to put it in them. That's the only way I can get DD to take it, she runs and hides if I try to give her the liquid. DS will take it in juice or milk, but I have to pinch his nose for him.

I take it right off the spoon - mixing it with something else just makes more volume of the same taste, IMO. It tastes bad, but you get used to it. I just do it quick then follow with a chaser.

I just pour about a tablespoonful into a little (3oz) cup and gulp it straight down. I prefer cups to spoons because there's less risk of spilling and ending up with a CLO spot on my shirt.

Am I the only one that thinks the liquid is nasty? Ick.

I do not mind Nordic Naturals strawberry flavored capsules. My dd would eat them like candy.

How much are you all giving your LOs? DD is 15 months and I have been giving her 1 teaspoon.

DS takes the lemon CLO right off the spoon (Barlean's). He asks for his "lemony oil". I have mixed it in smoothies before too.
