my son is 20 months old and i sometimes give him rice milk. i noticed that on the side of the carton it says to consult a dr. before giving it to children under 5....does anyone know why this is?
I think it is to cover someones butt, somewhere but nothing we need to really worry about. I agree that it should not replace formula or breast milk. I've been giving it to my kids since they stopped nursing and they are as healthy as can be! We're vegan so I think it's a good souce of calcium, b12 and d.
My guess is that it doesn't have the levels of fat and cholesterol that a young child would "normally" be getting from cow's milk (of course, normally, they should be getting it from mama milk...)
