I love bread. Especially soft whole wheat. I am trying to switch to healthier sprouted breads. Please tell me how to soften this bread. It is so hard and crumbly. I bought three different brands from Trader Joe's. The first one I have tried is Ezekiel Bread - Sprouted Grain Bread

Sorry to say it is so hard and not-so-tasty. Any tricks to soften it?

I don't have any tips for softening it but I love it as toast with butter. On a sandwich it is a bit dry for my taste.

I also dry it out in the oven and make breadcrumbs with it for making chicken nuggets for my kids.

Yes, I have made the switch here too and I have to admit that sprouted is not as tasty...at least when you're used to regular flour bread! I've tried lots of different kinds, and I have to say that the Ezekial is my least favorite. Their sesame seed is a little better, but the plain is very bland IMO. (Ezekial does make a good English muffin though!) I think all the other brands are comparable and taste decent - Dave's Killer Bread, Alvadore Ovens (or something like that)...there are a few more at our grocery store, but the names aren't coming to me.

FYI, some people like the Ezekial brand because it's one of the few that doesn't have any added sugar.

I like the Ezekial brand cinnamin raison. I toast it and add a little butter on top. Yum!

I have never tried to soften it but I can only wat it toasted so I'm limited to sandwiches, toast, etc.

Not the best way but often times you can soften bread by putting in the microwave for a few seconds. Never tried it with sprouted bread but it works well with other types.

It might be worth trying other Ezekiel varieties. I think some of them are pretty bad. We use the orange-colored packaged bread and we really like it.
