How much did you eat everyday?

And if you pumped, how many more ounces did you get (per pumping or per day) when eating oatmeal?

i eat a bowl for breakfast everyday- maybe 2 cups cooked. with flax and raisins and honey.

i have no idea if it works or not. I EBF no pumping, i never had a supply issue but i figure it couldnt hurt.

with dairy cows about 50% of their daily grains is oats. Keeps their supply up

with dairy cows- "Oat-based diets increased the portions of unsaturated fatty acids in milk fat that are reported to be beneficial in human diets."

i dont know any human based info but its probably better than pop-tarts :

I really believe that oatmeal helped my supply. I ate a bowl a day, like the pp. I did this from when I first started bfing until she was maybe 3 mos. Then I ate it less often, probably 2-3 times a week. I had to stop eating it altogether when she started solids because then I was having oversupply problems. (Only within the last few weeks have I been able to eat it without having problems. Dd is 14 mos.)

I didn't pump very often and it was a while ago so I don't even remember how many times a day, but I do remember that I could pump around 6-8 oz. each time while eating the oatmeal, depending on the time of day.

putting in my two cents.

I was sick a week ago. Fever, chills, no apitite, hard time even drinking. At 1230 pm, I went to pump after a nap, because DS was being watched so I could sleep. I got NOTHING. And it had been about 3 hours since DS last feeding. I forced myself to drink a bottle of water and eat a big bow of instant (My real oats were in my desk at work because that is where I normally eat them). Within an hour, I got two ounces. Coincidence? maybe. But I eat a bowl of real oats mixed with instant every morning, and get about 14-17 ounces pumped within an 8 hour period.

Back when I was pumping, I'd always get an extra ounce or two after I ate oatmeal. Even now (DD is 20 mo) I still feel "fuller" on days I eat oatmeal.

oatmeal leaves my breats full and my pumping out put is so much more. I ate some yesterday for a snack after dinner and this morning i pumped 6oz from one breast... i normally get 2.5

I found that i respond to different oat meal differently. I had just the regular kind and it didnt do anything... I got the "old fashioned" kind and its like instant milk boost.

Oatmeal worked so much for me that i actually had to avoid it for a long time. Even if I ate just a little bit, my supply jumped!

Works really well for me. I can't eat more than one or two oatmeal cookies without paying for it
