I've been using a lot of lanolin to lubricate my nipples after bfeeding (Medela Tender Care). I've read that olive oil can also be used. Is there any benefit to Olive oil versus lanolin?

The reason I ask is that even though lanolin is "safe" for baby, I wonder if its OK to ingest versus olive oil. I assume the baby will probably taste both of these products.

thanks!

Olive oil will moisturize, but lanolin will also act as a barrier to keep wetness from your bra or nursing pads off your skin.

Are your nipples sore or cracked?

My nipples are sore. I am also thinking of using Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter. I guess I want to use something that is non-toxic and better for the baby.thanks!
