I'm due with a baby any day now, and I'm wondering if I should stop eating things with nuts in them. Unfortunately, I've become addicted to LaraBars and they're so convenient and nutritious. I *think* I avoided nuts for the first year or so that I nursed my older son, though. Neither my DS nor my husband and I have nut allergies, but my sister has severe nut allergies.

Does anyone know what the recommendation is?

I don't know the recommendation, but I too am a Larabar addict.  Plus I eat nuts as snacks.  I'm breastfeeding my 7 mo right now.  I'm vegetarian, so ate nuts during pregnancy too.

I think it's ok to eat nuts during breastfeeding if there are no nut allergies in your direct family.  If you are concerned, call a LC or contact a LLL Leader to see what they say.
