I have had a great time nursing DS since the start, but suddenly this week my breasts hurt! They are super tender and I wince when he latches on. His top 2 teeth have just come in (already has 4 on the bottom) could this be the issue? What can I do?

Have you taken a pregnancy test?

Hmm... Well that HAD crossed my mind, but it seemed unlikely. I guess I'll go get one tomorrow to rule it out... Or not!

I thought about the pregnancy test, too. It is so nice to hear you say you have had a great time nursing. It would be soon to get pregnant again. Some women get sore nipples around the time they ovulate. It could be the teeth. You might want to encourate him to open wide when he latches and if he falls asleep at the breast break the suction with your finger and get him off so he doesn't bite down. If he is sleeping at the breast and just nursing every couple of minutes that may be irritating the nipple.

I bet you will figure it out.

I am definitely not preggo, but between the extra drool, new teeth, and extra comfort nursing, I am pretty sore these days too!

Well definitely not pregnant... AF this morning! I guess it was partly the teeth and partly PMS tenderness. ?? This is only my second PPP so I'm still sort of out-of-wack and not being on the pill my symptoms are much worse.

I have noticed that when he falls asleep nursing I can really feel those teeth! I don't really know what else to do but pull him off. He's busy all day crawling so he is in a pattern of nursing a lot through the night. Sometimes it is comfort nursing I'm sure, (he doesn't take a paci) but I never really minded until now...
