I posted this in the Pregnancy Forum, but thought it may get better attention here. So, I just found out I'm pregnant. I also have an 11 month old daughter that breastfeeds. I want to continue nursing her, but the thought of miscarriage or early labor due to nursing is freaking me out. Also, I was wondering if any mama's on here could give any advice (as I'm also nervous about nipple pain and nursing with a huge stomach in my way) TIA
Kelly Mom has some good information http://www.kellymom.com/bf/tandem/index.html
Unless you have a history of miscarriages and/or preterm labor, there isn't really anything to be concerned about imo. Drinking plenty of water is a good thing. The biggest issue seems to be losing milk as the pregnancy advances. I have had this happen a couple of times, but not every time.
I've breastfed through multiple pregnancies with no problems to the growing baby. I miscarried my last baby but I am not convinced it was due to breastfeeding. I was still nursing the same child when I got pregnant this time and the baby is doing just fine.
