My period came on 4 weeks after giving birth. I had a period in March. No period yet in April though yet. Can you have periods one month and no period the next month? Or is it once it comes you will see it every month there after?

I got my period at 6weeks pp and not again since and just had a doctor-given preg test today and it was negative. I have another before my iud insertion next week but it's pretty certain I'm not pregnant though we've not been careful at all. At the very least you can expect your period to be very irregular because you are nursing. Maybe you won't get it at all for a while. That would be nice huh??? I know a lot of formula feeding moms who got one period at 6weeks and hven't since and we are all 3, 4, 5+months pp. It's a hormonal thing I guess. Definitely if you are breastfeeding it will be irregular if you get it at all.

I got a period at 6 weeks, which I thought was really strange since I was exclusively breastfeeding (and with DS, I didn't get a period for the first year). Still exclusively breastfeeding (except for a little banana) at almost 7 months, and I haven't had a period since that first one.

I've had a couple of days when I thought my period had begun (I had like a period for a day twice and then no more). I think it is the hormones and breastfeeding. I also have noticed that I have these period days following a bout of DS not eating as often or as much.
