I need to buy an electric breast pump in the next week. I'm going back to work part time then and funds are low. Anyone discovered a cheap source for the pump in style? I hesitate to buy it on ebay because I worry about a malfunction. I am only open to a new one.

when I rented a hospital grade pump from a local LC, she was selling the Medela and Ameda pumps at much less than retail price - she sold the pumps without the bags and accessories and it was substantially cheaper. She's in MD but perhaps if you try calling local LCs, they might do the same in your area. If you don't care for the backpacks and travel cases it's a good deal.

Have you tried WIC and/or LaLeche League. I haven't priced them in a long time. What I remember is that WIC had them cheapest and LLL was 2nd cheapest in the area.

If you haven't ordered your pump yet- I just wanted to say Kidalog has wonderful customer service and the shipping is immediate. I bought the Medela PIS Traveler and I got it 10 business days later. I believe nothing is moved in Canadian mail on Saturday or Sunday.
