IÕve been reading the article "But Is It Safe for My Baby? Medications and Breastfeeding" by Thomas Hale

http://mothering.com/12-0-0/html/12-...ications.shtml

I have a question about "Table 2: Radioactive and other medications for which temporary pumping and discarding of milk is recommended"

It consists of a list of medications and the "Recommended Period of Interrupted Breastfeeding" for a mother taking them. Some of them say about a day, some say about a week, and some say about a month, but some just say, "Complete cessation." What does that mean? Never breastfeed again for the rest of your life? When exactly is it safe to start breastfeeding again after taking these drugs? Does anyone know anything about this? (Perhaps Dr. Hale himself will see this and answer.)

-Alice, SAHM to dd (2001) and ds (2004) each of whom was a homebirth.jpg, who each self-weaned at 4.5 years bfolderchild.gif, who both fambedsingle2.gif'd, who were bothcd.gif, and both: novaxnocirc.gif.   Also, gd.gif, and goorganic.jpg!

you'd need to write him and ask I think...I'd never heard that he reads here.
