I'm 35 weeks pg with my 3rd child and have had serious difficulties bfing the first 2. There was an overall lack of support from the hospital lactation consultant (she actually brought formula to my house when dd#1 was 5 weeks). I had severe shooting pains that radiated toward my back whenever my babies latched on. I ended up with cracked, blistered, bleeding, infected nipples. About a month ago I read an article about yeast and think that this may have been my problem. I know breast is best, but everyone tells me to just forget about it and bottle feed since the experience was such a nightmare with the first two. Is there anything I can do now to prepare my body to breastfeed If yeast is the problem, what should I do to get rid of/ or prevent it? Any advise will be welcome.

If yeast is the problem, I woudl cut all refined sugar from your diet now, and start taking a pro-biotic like acidolphous.
I woudl also get in touch with your local LLL NOW to see what support they can give you- they may have meeting for pregnant women.
