A week ago I was nursing my 18m daughter in the night and she was wiggling and bit me. It broke the skin and I have 3 teeth marks. It has been extremely painful to nurse, I only nurse her 2x with that side to try and give it a chance to heal. I put pure vitamin E oil on it but the skin is still broken and I'm thinking I have to stop nursing from that nipple for a few days. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I haven't been bitten hard enough to draw blood, but I'd think using breastmilk in the bite marks would be better than Vitamin E ...

Yowch! Try Lansinoh, or moist wound healing strips by the same co.

If it is too painful to nurse, can you pump? You don't want to get overfull and get a plug as well as the bite!

Try different nursing positions? maybe one way or another will put less pressure on the wound(s)?

good luck!

DITTO! You sound like me! Did this get better for you? If so how? I'm having the same problem right now. DD bit me on one side, i think it was during the night too and now a week later it still hasn't heeled and it hurts real bad to nurse. I'll try lansinoh and different positions. Does anybody have more advice?

I'm still nursing her enough, I'm not getting engourged or anything like that so there's no need for pumping. It just hurts.
