I have a nasty little cold...which has now developed into a nasty littls cough.

So far I haven't taken anything, but I would really like to get this junk out of my chest....

Can I take an expectorant cough syrup while BF? Not one with any of the decongetstants or anything, just the straight expectorant.

Anyone know?

there is something in robitussin that isint good for babies. the doc told me to get expectorant but NOT robitussin while bf'ing....which is rather difficult b/c not many brands make JUST expectorant..but robitussion does!:

Best thing to get rid of a cough and congestion in the lungs is garlic. Get some Kyolic garlic pills and take 4 about 3 times/day. Totally safe for babe and your cough will disappear very fast.

The garlic sounds interesting, but currently I can't swallow pills. Weird pregnancy thing, but they make me gag and throw up. So swallowing 4 pills a day isn't gonna happen.

No robitussin huh? Okey dokey....

I don't know how true this is but the Nurse on the phone when we last called for care for DS said that a tablespoon of regular old Corn Syrup would loosen everything up. I'm not sure how/why since it was DH who was on the phone with her though.
