This Thursday DD will be 7 months old and has never had solids. The past several days when she nurses my nipples are hurting SO bad. She's not latching any differently and has no teeth. I took a pg test yesterday and it was negative. I'm wondering if AF is coming back. Last Sunday I did have some EWCM, but I'm not charting temps again yet.

Thoughts?

The exact same thing (with baby the same age) is happening to me. I am sure it is AF returning. I read on Kellymom to take 500mgs of Evening Primrose Oil a day to help with nipple soreness during ovulation.

I've only taken it for 3 days. The nipples are still sore, but nursing is not unbearable anymore.

btw. your daughter is adorable! My son was born December 3rd!

Evening primrose does help! If you take it daily (all month), you won't have much soreness.

Thanks for this.....I wondered if you took at all the time or just around ovulation/menstruation. Now I have my answer!

Evening Primrose Oil, hm? I must get some then. But now I have a couple of questions about THAT. lol. 1) For the nipple soreness, how long does it take to work? My nips are only sore while DD is eating, or if my clothes brush over them randomly. And 2) I did a search on here and found a thread that said EPO shouldn't be taken in the first trimester... so would it still help if I just take it from AF to ovualtion instead of the whole month?

Thanks

Ok, never did get around to taking any EPO, but yesterday and today my nipples started feeling better anyway.

And today my period came back. Goody goody.

Well, this is good to know. Still waiting on ppaf here, but with my others, she showed around 6 mos pp. But dd hasn't had any solids yet and I'd started the others on them at 6mos, so maybe I'll get more of a reprieve this time.

I also had sore nipples around ovulation for those first few pp af's. I haven't noticed it being a problem in quite a while, though. Hopefully yours will be better as time goes on!

I got my period today as well. Oh, joy. I HAVE been taing EPO for several days and my nipples felt better well before today. But I can't tell whether it worked or whether it just got better after ovulating.

Guess we'll see next cycle.
