DD#1 started calling it "side" because I would ask her if she wanted the other side. Now that is what we refer to it in our house. In fact, DD#1, who is 3, thinks that the proper name for breast is side.

I call breastfeeding "nursing", I call my breasts "breasts" when I need to, as in, "please don't pinch mama's breasts". I when I ask DS if he wants to bf, I say, "nurse?" and make the sign for milk. I guess I didn't get all that creative. I am hoping that eventually he comes up with something cute on his own. He is starting to say "na-na", but who knows.

Formerly single Mama to the zaniest boy on the block, born on my birthday on 3/28/07. Soon to be Mama to a new little and can't wait to bfinfant.gif and femalesling.GIF and familybed1.gif again!

My dd calls her pacifier bob. I think we decided one night at about 3am that it was short for "boob"

My dd's call them boobies and we call nursing, "nack." Like snack but without the "s." My second daughter gave it that nickname at about 18 months I believe and now when we are bringing milk to the baby she likes to tell anyone who will listen that "baby gracie gets boobie nack and mama pumps for her!"

We were driving home from the grocery store when my son was about 2 months old and he began to fuss and groan. My husband commented from the front seat that "Groanie loves Chachi" and hence my "chachis" were born. Now they're a standard part of family conversation. Finn was fussing at Christmas and my brother called from the other room "Hey, I think this baby wants some chachi!" I wonder what Scott Baio would think if he knew that there were boobs out there named after him.

I love it. We call it nursies, but I might have to incorporate the port and starboard into our family.

DS weaned before he was verbal, so we never called it anything, but lately he's been asking about when he used to nurse a lot, and we have friends with young babies so he sees them nursing. Anyway, for some reason he never just says "nursing," he always says, "nursing with her breasts," as in, "K is nursing Baby N with her breasts." I'm due with my 2nd baby in 3 months, so I imagine that's how he'll talk about it once his baby sibling is here too.

I read somewhere that you shouldn't call them anything you wouldn't want them to say in public... so I just say, "do you want some milk?" He isn't talking yet so hopefully when he does start talking he will just say "milk" and when he can form sentances, hopefully he will just say, "I want milk"

I dunno.. time will tell. But I don't use any nickname for them other than "mama" and "milk" That way when he is older I won't get weird looks, like if he were to say in front of strangers, "I want boobies" or something

My BFF calls them "titties" I never thought that was very appropriate, but she didn't care, so that's all that matters.

we usually call them "doo-doos", it's a shortened word for "breasts" in the Ojibway language. Or I ask if she wants "doodooshaaboo".
