I posted a week back about my DD who is in 7% for weight. She was not eating much last week after just starting to eat at least yogurt. I think it was due to teething and possibly a stomach bug (we all have this weekend). But it seems she is back to eating.
I have a couple of questions.... when do you tend to feed solids? After nursing or before? Or do you just eliminate a nursing session? There are two babies at daycare who are my DD's age and both their mom's come at lunch to nurse their babies like me. Both of their babies are really into food according to the mom's and when the mom's come to nurse, they babies are not that interested in nursing. One mom said that it started when feeding solids.
So my concern is that if I start eliminating a nursing session and try to feed solids instead, that I might not be getting the best nutrition to DD since her repertoire for solids is minimal. I can give her yogurt that I spike with oatmeal cereal, sometimes bananas and now I have been adding oil (flaxseed oil). I wasn't sure which one to go with, but that seemed to come up as a halfway decent one. Olive oil has too strong a taste.
I am just not sure what is the best balance for all of this given her weight issue. I hate to pull out breastfeeding since this is the better source of nutrition at this point. But at 9.5 months, going on 10, I had hoped she would be eating much more by now.
