Ok, I don't really know how to describe this...

When my milk lets down, my ear starts to itch, and I guess the wax also "lets down" because it becomes watery... Then when I stop bf it dries up and gets crusty... I know, it sounds disgusting, and at the beginning I thought I might have an ear infection, but then kinda figured it was normal (w/ all the sinuses in the body working at the same time or something)

Now I'm wondering if this could be a symptom of something else, like excessive mucus, or allergies or something serious I should pay more attention to.

I've gotten used to it, and if it is normal it doesn't really bother me too much, just wanted to know if it could be something I need to look into...

Thanks!

this had got to be a hormonal response....

I used to happen to me when I was nursing my son and it now is happening as I am having hormonal surges with the coming of a new baby....

I honestly obsessively have q tips with me....I clean my ears like 4 times a day...

I have no clinical explanation just wanted you to know you are not the only one....

Thanks so much Lori! Now that you mention it, it also happened when I was pregnant, but not as obvious as with the letdown...
And I also have tons of qtips around, and I dip them in alcohol and let the alcohol drip, since qtips are not supposed to be good...
Anyway, thanks for sharing, and letting me know I am not alone!
