What are some over-the-counter cold remedies or natural that are safe for nursing moms?
I feel TERRIBLE and I don't want to risk taking something that could affect my milk supply.:
Poor DS is sick with his very first cold, too.
Anyway, I plan to do some natural remedies, but would still like the quick relief of an OTC remedy.
Any suggestions (OTC and natural)?

Sorry to hear you have a cold! Anything with pseudoephedrine in it can decrease milk supply. What are your symptoms? For fever and chills and body-ache a pain killer can help, but many moms avoid the mixed "cold" OTCs that may decrease milk supply.
If you post the symptoms you are trying to clear up, someone may have some ideas for you.

Yep, pseudephedrine is the one to avoid. The anti-histimine decongetants can sometimes help w/o reducing your supply.

The nasal sprays put the least amount of medicine into your system, but after using Afrin a couple times, I don't seem to smell as well as i used to.

You can use saline sprays to wash the snot out.

The rest of it is fine to use. (Tylenol, Ibuprophine, gufstasin, etc.)

They're not typos. . . I can't spell!
