Does anyone know the risks of using novocaine during nursing? I have a cracked filling that was identified while I was pregnant, but I didn't want to expose the baby to anything, so I put off having it fixed. I'm assuming the dentist will have to use novocaine to fix it. It is a composite, so I guess I don't have to worry about mercury exposure. I wasn't concerned but the last few days now, I'm starting to feel it, so now I'm thinking I should get it fixed before it becomes painful. Any advice?

Thank you!

The risk of not breastfeeding is far greater than any risk of novocaine.
