She is almost 7 mo and when she nurses (about 80% of the time) she latches on and then pulls back (while still nursing) and usually pushing with her fist on my chest.

this really hurts.

I'm just wondering -- why does she do it? how can I get her to stop?

It's not as if she's not hungry; she's eating but ... pulling.

Bumping because I have the same question...
My two week old is doing this. It doesn't matter what position we are in or if she is swaddled to keep her hands from pushing her back. She just rears her head back repeatedly throughout the feeding. Thoughts??? Is she trying to slow down, or speed up the milk?

Me too - I suspect my 7 month old does this to control flow. It's not obvious to me that it only happens at let-down, but it seems likely. Hope someone with an answer and a remedy pipes in here.
