Technically, no. But I voted other because I went through an awful period depression/anxiety after using natural progesterone cream a few years ago. So, it was similar in that it was caused by a hormonal imbalance.

I've only gone through pregnancy and childbirth once, and I don't think so. But I'm prone to periods of depression as it is.

i have had it twice

1st time so bad i almsot drown my son in the bath, i didnt and i sought help and got better with Antidepressants and conuciling(sp)

2nd time i knew it was happening and asked adn asked and asked for help to be fobbed off untill i ended up screming down the phone at my HV to bloody help me before i get worse, i self managed after i saw a GP who refused anti derpessants and said coinciling woul dbe a good idea(it was) i sought homeopathic advice and used that to help me and it did help lots.

i got better faster but i was no where near as bad as i was with DS1

both times it was the boys

i think i may have got it with DD but i got pregnant with DS2 whgen she was only 14 weeks old so pregy hormons headed that off.

i duno how thigns are gonna go this time i may be lucky and get by or i mgiht get it but i know what to expect and i will seek out natural help not drugs off GP

my dance with PPD was nasty the first time, i was under a dark dark cloud from when DS1 was 3 month old untill DS2 was 6 months old so from sept 2002 till May 20005!!! thats a long time to be in a dark place adn i had 2 babys in that time and i still feel very very guilty i do not remember alot of DDs babyhood, time i will never get back, me and her are not very close and it breaks my heartand i am trying to fix it now.
i have very little memory of that time except bad stuff

its an awfull awfull illness

Yes, both times.

The first time it went untreated.

The second time I was on Zoloft before I left the hospital and I've been weaning myself off it for 3 months now.

Yes, but my postpartum stuff manifested itself more as anxiety. What's funny is at the time, I didn't think it was especially severe. Looking back, I wonder how I made it through.

Immediately postpartum (as in, the first three weeks or so) I must have been experiencing some kind of mania; my house was never cleaner, I was never more social, etc.

Yes, however, I'm Bipolar so it manifested itself along with this.
