Thought I'd go ahead and start a new thread for the week.

I'm doing ok. Had a midwife appt today, pretty boring. Started loosing my mucous plug about an hour ago and now I feel something that might be a contraction. :LOL Lost my mucous plug twice w/ DD though, so I doubt I'm going into labor. How is everyone else doing?

Today has been interesting...we'll see if anything comes of it. When dh left for work this morning, I was having some menstrual-type cramps and felt like something might happen today. A few hours later I started feeling contractions that were different from BH, with some pain in front...timed them at 10 minutes apart for several hours. That made me feel like I needed to go get my last errands run, even if this isn't the real thing. I can't possibly FIT anything else into our freezer....I bought myself a really yummy milkshake at Coldstone Creamery while I was out, something that I have never done. Figured I deserve a treat.

The contractions have gotten more intense, but I haven't timed them in a while. Once I got home from my errands I found that I've started to lose my mucous plus. Could be labor, might not be, but things are happening here! My estimated due date is on Thursday.

Hi ladies

Both of you sound so close!! Good luck! I am still waiting for any kind of mucous plug action. Now I am officially 12 days overdue. I went to the MW today to get another stress test done and the baby is fine and so am I. My cervix has thinned some but no dilation. I had this fantasy that she would say "Wow Dorian you are 10 cm already all you have to do is push" Sigh. I am glad they did not give the stress test to Mark because he would not have "passed". He's one big acceleration. His father's angioplasty went fine today and he was a real sweetie.
As for the induction conversation: I was considering having my membranes swept the "stretch and sweep" but I changed my mind after doing a little research on MDC. Really, if the baby is healthy and I am healthy why would I do an intervention just because I am impatient? Especially with all of the added risks? So, more sex, more long walks in the park, spicy food, bouncing on the birthing ball and I'll even try walking up a hill backwards as another PP suggested. Commmme on baby!!!!

By the way, if I am "next" on the list of ladies in waiting, does that mean I will give birth next? Grasping for anything at this point..

Still chugging along here with the contractions...now they're down to 6 minutes apart, but no more intense than earlier. Think I'll make pad thai for dinner tonight. Yum!! Maybe I'll make it extra-spicy and see if that helps, eh?

It didn't seem to work.

I've basically been cramping for 31 hours now, give or take. Sometimes more sporadically than others. This is getting ridiculous. I was teasing dh that I was just suddenly going to have a need to push, and this was his reaction - "But then your mom won't get here in time to bake the birthday cake with Gillian!" :LOL

mamas, if the spicy food isn't working, try pesto I ate homefries with pesto the day I had our daughter, and there is a pizza place in Oakland that is famous for getting babies out with their pesto pizza

update from me: our little girl is named Lila Moon
* (Lila pronounced Lee-la)

and for the list (amazingly well done update morningtomoonmama!) she was 8Ibs, but for the life of me I can't remember her length; around 20 inches I think.

I am doing amazingly wel, i can't get over how different this is than with DS. My body feels "normal" again, thought the after birth cramps did go on for almost a week and were way worse than I'd imagined. But now my bleeding has slowed way down and I am up and about feeling great and taking walks.

I also seem to have the most incredibly peaceful baby - I know I should enjoy that right now because it is sure to change! She sleeps and sleeps, almost more than I would like, but seems to most enjoy being wide awake and alert between 1am and 2am, exactly as she did when she was in my belly Luckily that's Dh's job, bouncing her on the birth ball while I get a bit of sleep.

Nursing is not as clear cut as it was with DS, she takes a long time to settle at the breast and then keeps switching back and forth and falling asleep; it usually takes a second round before she is really sucking vigorously and I can be sure she's getting enough milk. But she barely lost any weight the first week so she must be fine, it's just a bit frustrating for me.

Excited to hear about all the new babies on the way!

For three weeks now I thought I was having night sweats from the hormone changes. Turns out it was actually from the humidifier! :LOL

Owen and I are off to enjoy our first movie theater experience together. The momma/baby movie nearest me is showing something I don't want to see, so we'll see if I can actually make it accross town before 10. We'll see.

I found an adorable little outfit for baby to wear to a family wedding in two weeks at Target. It is 3 mos. sized, but I managed to shrink it a bit. Thank goodness for that. I was convinced that I wouldn't have anything and the whole family would be taking pictures of Owen and his 4 mo. old cousin Fiona (who always has cute dresses) and my kid would be wearing doggie pjs.

My employer is withholding my bonus from last year, so it looks like I'll have to go back for a few days and then tell them it isn't working out. : It's the 2004 bonus, and I worked all of 2004 so....? At least I don't feel so bad about not returning now. I'd have given them a lot more notice if the didn't prompt me to fake returning.

I ca't believe that we are three weeks into March already! Good luck to all the laboring moms!

Mom to Owen (03/05), Mary (07/07) and Joseph (06/10).

Christine- what a load of crap from your work. Can they do that?? That doesnt seem legal!

WOW!!! Laboring mamas everywhere!!! I knew the second I saw my mucous start leaving that I was going to have my baby- even when there was no contractions- I just knew... Good luck to everyone

Things are fine here, I feel a bit depressed- not really depressed but I dont know how else to put it. I am not really into talking and cant think of anything to hold a topic for the life of me. I want to talk on the phone to everyone, but have zip to say.... "Well, Breeze pooped again for the 10th time in 20 min" it just doesnt seem like a topic everyone wants to hear :LOL

I ventured out to walmart yesterday with both the girls- I need washclothes to make some more dipes- because like I said she poops 10 times in 20 min and I am going crazy.... So that was interesting... I was slinging Breeze and Rainey was in the stroller and then Breeze wanted to eat, so I tried to feed her in the sling and that worked until I had to make a stop to the potty to change diapers- so we got Rainey changed then Breeze then I decided I had to pee so the bathroom trip took us 20 min at least- then Breeze couldnt get comfy in the sling again to nurse so we had to find a seat someplace- then Rainey wanted out of her stroller, so I had 2 screaming kids and a boob hanging out! My 5 min trip took over an hour. DH even called to check in on me because I had taken so long and he was at work wating for me.

Scotts parents are coming in town on Friday- with my 3 year old neice. I am praying that it goes well and that Aubrey (my niece) plays with Rainey a ton. I just feel so bad for Rainey- she sits in her play room all day as I sit on my computer doing work. I just keep breaking into tears thinking of her playing all by herself. But here is the hangup- Scotts borther who lives with his parents has Mono- they have called the doctors and they said it will not be a problem because he has had it for like 2 weeks and no one else is sick- but still I am worried about my new baby and Rainey- and heck I dont want mono either! I am going to do some looking into it.

Well now that my novel is done- I will go do some work before Rainey gets up!
Hugs to everyone and sending strong vibes to the mamas in early labor!

Kash--At least you have somehting going on LOL I still have nothing! Ugh I keep waiting for my typical prodromal labor patterns and its just not coming. It really almost reminds me of my first pregnancy. Even tho I have had some ctrx with this one its more like my 1st where I had no ctrx until I was actualy in labor. I wonder if that is how it will be this time. Its so weird how different these have all been *sigh* kind of frustrating ;p

But if labor doesn't hit today I am really hoping babe holds off until March 30. My MIL just left so that hurdle is out of the way. The midwife i want here leaves town tommorow (my due date) and won't be back until the 30th. So please babe come today or wait a week :LOL

Simplehome--Good luck!! Sounds like you may have a babe today

Christine--Thats pretty freaking lousy of your employer to do that to you :irk

Hi all, I wish I had more to report, but unfortunately I just keep waking up more and more uncomfortable (I suppose that is SOMETHING, but not the kind of something I'd imagined). I talked to a few chiros about my pain and no one wants to touch a 40 week pregnant lady. Everyone keeps telling me that this is most likely early labor. For goodness sake, I can't do much of anything...like walk anywhere without wincing in pain. I am very glad to have dh home from work this week, but if babe doesn't appear he will be back at work next week and that sounds simply awful to me right now. I will spend all next week in tears if I am in this much pain and have to chase after ds. I will have to make some arrangements for help from friends or something.

My EDD is tomorrow. I am hoping things start looking more promising later today or tomorrow. I am going to force myself to walk again today despite the pain. My midwives said to take some Tylenol, but that doesn't even take the edge off. OK, gotta run ds and dh are out of the shower.

Ang Mono is one of those diseases that can only be passed by sharing a drink or utensil or kissing the person with the mono, its not an air borne virus. Says the person who had Mono in highschool, better known as the kissing disease :LOL

PP hormones can be such a major drag! Can you put off doing some work while Breeze (cute name btw) is napping and spend a lil one on one with Rainey?

mamadaisy I cant believe you are being turned down by Chiros! I was over 41 weeks when I saw one with my last pg and they had no issue seeing an overdue preggo. I wish I could afford to go see the Chiro this time around. I know it would do me a world of good and probably would kick start labor. Oh well maybe I can try and budget it in this upcoming payday if I am still pregnant.

My EDD is tommorow too. But I am still convinced i am going almost to 42 weeks. Still kind of depressing thinking about being this way for another 2 weeks. I can no longer wear any jeans, my tops are too small and forget bending over to put shoes on. Cleaning the house a major chore and after just doing small things I feel like I need to go sleep for a few hours. At least with my last pg i was feeling great even all thru labor. This time I am just worn out and huge and tired of being pg.

Just thought I'd pop in and say good luck to all the ladies in waiting, I'm one of them too. I lost my plug with bloody show almost 2 full weeks ago. Spent Sunday afternoon in L&D with ctrx 3 min apart for 6 hours, and it was false labour...arghhh! I have had my mebranes stripped 2x and my doctor says if no baby by next Tuesday, it's the awful Pitocin drip or me . However I am 2.5cm dialted apprx 90% effaced, -1 station and my cervix is fianlly anterior. I think we can do this. During my visit to L&D I warned all the staff to wear earplugs...lol. I cannot have an epidural , it would be fatal due to my "caine: allergy....and I am a sccreamer...lol. Gessh 3rd baby and I am still nervous. Anywhoo, take care everyone. Here's to Thursday's full moon! Let's keep our fingers crossed........Tiffany

Hey everyone,

Crayon your Walmart experience sounds tramatic but you seem to take it like it's nothing. I can't even imagine how it must be with a toddler and a newborn! Go mama!

Today I am 12 days "overdue." Trying to focus on taking each day on its own. I am going to organize our taxes today--something I was sort of putting off until after the baby. Might as well go ahead and do it. I am feeling basically fine except now my belly is so huge it's become hard to do the simplest things like sitting on the couch, tying my shoes, picking up a paper off the floor. When I went to mass on Sunday I couldn't fit in the pew when it was time to kneel. :LOL Funny I was looking at other mother's bellies when I was about 15 weeks thinking, "Gosh, I hope I never get THAT big." Now I am bigger then they were.

Since it's basically flat here in New Orleans, I am going to run/walk up and down the levees which are the closest things to a hill we have here.

The baby is still moving and feels big inside now. yikes! Will I be pregnant forever? Should I just give up?

Happy Spring everyone!!!!

I have the awake-est newborn in the history of man! She doesn't sleep much, and when she does, it's day time.

So, I'm exhausted. My two-year-old is handling the transition really well. Yesterday, she hugged Ellery, and Ellery stopped crying. Maya spent the rest of the day saying, "I hugged her, and she stopped crying!" with a big smile on her face! Precious.

Ang, your trip to Walmart sounds like what I imagine my first trip to the store is going to be like. Sympathy and hugs to you!

I wore my jeans today! (Please, please don't be jealous--they're fat jeans. But still, I had to share.)

Still here, still - but shouldn't they have a less perky version??

The cramps are... still here, more or less. Sometimes I have contractions instead, sometimes it's more crampy, sometimes it's more frequent, sometimes less frequent. My back is in a pretty much constant state of pain.

The midwife's coming here tomorrow - normally I would have gone for an appointment today, but she didn't have any other prenatals today, so when I called yesterday evening, she said she'd stop by around 3 tomorrow, as she's got a meeting over on this side of town. I did appreciate not having to drive in the rain, at least!

Went out to dinner at an Italian restaurant - my friend theorized that maybe it would be spicy enough to jumpstart something. Eh. Either way, it tasted all right. Tomorrow I have to take dd to her tumbling class - which is going to me not so fun, as the other moms there will all be going 'omg, you're still here?' and so on. Eeek.

I have definitely reached the point where I think that I will be pregnant forever! I am trying to find 'good points' about this and the only thing I can think of is that at least this one will be a tad bit younger when I have to take a big trip in the fall... *shrug* I'm searching, I'm searching!

Hey ladies -

I am not going to ruin the surprise, but I wanted you to know that I am IRL friends with one of the Ladies in Waiting and that she delivered a healthy baby in the wee hours. I am sure she will be telling you all about it soon!

Storm went through here about 1:30 or 2 am... well, something's happening, at any rate. Called midwife, she says she has another mother doing the exact same thing (ack!) and that 'most likely' it's a reaction to the storm, but, well, it ain't stopping. Not real long but only 3 or 4 minutes apart, which is actually about the only things so far that reminds me of labor with dd - close together from the beginning, just getting longer as it goes on. We shall see.

I'm still here, too. I saw my mw yesterday and I'm not dilated at all. Even though I know this means nothing, I was still hoping for some sort of change so I could feel like my toning contractions were doing something. I am also very big and having difficulty moving. I've gained seven lbs in the past week cause I still eat tons and don't move much now and I'm putting on fluid. At least my BP is great and I'm not spilling any protein in my urine. (I've gained 80 lbs during this pregnancy!)

Tiffany- I forgot about the full moon on Thursday. Thanks for the reminder. Of course I've scheduled an appointment in the next town over with a therapist/clairvoyant for Thursday to communicate with my unborn child and work through any childbirth issues I may be having. I know it sounds kind of hokey, but I'm really excited to see what she has to say. At least its something to look forward to, other than labor.

I feel for everyone else who is also huge and slow and clumsy and having to deal with the waiting game. Keep up your spirits and remember it WILL happen.

Thanks for taking care of the list this week, Dee. I had talked to Kash about taking over this week, but since my baby came I haven't done anything but
hold her. I don't plan on doing anything else for several more days, either!

Catch up with you all later! Congrats to all of the other new mamas!

The cramps are... still here, more or less. Sometimes I have contractions instead, sometimes it's more crampy, sometimes it's more frequent, sometimes less frequent. My back is in a pretty much constant state of pain.

I have definitely reached the point where I think that I will be pregnant forever! I am trying to find 'good points' about this
Yeah lemme just nod in agreement to all of this lol The less perky version should have the irked face on it LOL because thats exactly how I feel! :

I am having the same thing as you, sometimes cramps, sometimes ctrx, sometimes intense sometimes not. Sometimes consistent sometimes sporatic. I GIVE UP! Instead of my back being in constant pain tho its my crotch. I can barely climb into my minvan it hurts so bad.

Yup yup total agreement on going to be pregnant forever. I went overdue with my last and so i was totally especting it this time and have had the going to have an April baby mentality but its not helping the fact that I am uncomfy and so friggin hormonal! So not like this with my DD, I was comfy and happy and content as could be even at 9 days over. Why can't it be that way this time?

I should stop complaining. I know I won't be pg forever and I know I do not ant to go into labor for another 7 days but then again I just want it over with. Oh the conflict

Come one : and bring Kash and my babes purty please?!

Baby vibes to Kash!

Ellery's early days are eerily similar to Maya's...which means I have another high needs baby. Pray for me, y'all. I'm nearly delirious from sleep deprivation. I'm ready to jump through all the necessary hoops in an effort to calm my "fussy" baby (i.e. chiropractic, elimination diet, infant massage, white noise, etc). We did it all last time, and none of it helped (except for white noise), so I'm not getting my hopes up. I love my girls so dearly, and I love cuddly newborns. But I find myself longing for a three- or four-month-old now!

One tip I can pass along to others with high needs babies: noise! Turning on the fan above the stove always calms my babies down. As does the blender. It's so strange how a screaming baby will just melt into my body and grow wide-eyed when the noise is turned on.

Serina, my niece was the same way- the vacuume worked everytime. I have the kinda 360 from your baby- mine sleeps and sleeps- and I want her to wake to nurse because I fear I will explode and then I will have to clean it up :LOL But she is more cranky than Rainey was- so that shows you how calm Rainey was...

Well, I have a underline headache today- not fun and for some reason my bottom and my--- well really my whole area is hurting to the point it hurts to sit. I am not sure what is going on- if I over did myself, if it is just now catching up with me from the birth, if it is gas, I am just not sure. But what ever it is it is very painful and I just want to lay down, but I have Rainey who needs me. I also need to do some sewing because Breeze seems to pee thru everything- I mean everything! I am about to go crazy with wet clothes- even my PUL leaked!

The ILs are coming on firday and I have zero energy to keep the house clean- I would think it is from hurting- I was feeling great, now I feel like my pelvis and every other part down ther is falling out!

So, that is me.... Such joy to hear from, I am sure

On a good note, Breeze's face is looking much better- she was very brusied on her eyelids for some reason, after birth. We are thinking it was from her sucking her thumbs in the womb- and now she is realizing that when she pokes herslef in the eye it hurts, so now we are down to a very light purple color. I hope it clears up by friday- but I dont think it will be cleared totally- but my goodness she is a pretty baby- Everyday she gets more pretty!

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Esp. after yesterday, when I made sushing noises for almost 2 hours and I nearly passed out. Why is it that all of my baby equipment plays tin-y horrid "classical" music but none can produce white noise? I mean white noise might actually be useful. I can get real classical music from the radio! (but I can't get any decent static )

It's snowing here. Blech. Will spring never come?

The movie went quite well, but Owen and I were the only ones in the theater. I had really hoped to meet some other moms and babies. Oh well. I'm still going back next week. Don't know how long my $6 will keep them open, but I'll take advantage of it while its there.

I won't go into detail, but I inadvertantly ripped my stitches out this morning. OW! The nurse told me they were the dissolving kind.

Mom to Owen (03/05), Mary (07/07) and Joseph (06/10).

Pleease don't forget about mee! I am still hangning in there at 13 days overdue! I need some good vibes. All of this build up has made me and Mark just numb. I am having all of the above symptoms except add a foot in the ribs just for good measure. I ate the spiciest, yummiest Indian food last night--nothing.

s aquarianmom!!! I have been 9 days "late" but i was content to be overdue. This time not so much.

I have the foot in my ribs, butt in my lungs, head in my cervix and fist in my side. Not to mention the acide reflux that is suddenly rearing up. Oh yea and now we are having a friggin snow storm! As if I'm not depressed enough it has to go and snow again. I am so sick of the snow, I am sick of winter and I just want to hold my baby! *whine whine whine*

Someone just put me outta my misery already lol

Not much time, but Spike has finally arrived, and it's a boy!

Jacob Sirius made his appearance at 6:28 this morning, after a labor I can describe at present only as 'intense.' He was 8 lbs, 12 oz (a huge shock to me, since dd was 7 lbs 1 oz!) and a whopping 22 inches long! He ended up being 'almost' a water baby - I pushed standing up in the birth tub - and almost born in the caul, too.

More and pictures later.
