Eleanor Iris arrived this morning at 3:47am, after fourteen hours of labor (only 2 hours of active labor---went from 1-2cm to pushing incredibly quickly). And I did it without pain medication ! She weighs 7 lbs, 11 oz and looks exactly like her big bro did as a newborn . We're both recovering well, nursing is going amazingly, and we're came home from the hospital when she was about eight hours old.

Good luck to the moms still waiting!

Whoops, posted this twice already before I realized I was hitting "new thread"! Sorry for the duplicates, but now I'm putting this where it belongs. :

Dmitri Alexander was born at home on Friday, April 22, at 7:06 a.m. 7 lbs., 2 oz. 20 inches long. Labor was 8-1/2 hrs. Kind of a neat coincidence: It was Earth Day, and his name (from Demeter) means "lover of the earth." It was a beautiful birth, and Joe and I are now past the exhaustion phase and really enjoying our babymoon.

Add us too, please. We welcomed Theodore Miles, aka Theo, on Thursday April 21 at 2:16. 8 pounds 6 oz, 20.5 inches. Super long cord and the most beautiful tree of life in his placenta, which we have a print of. He was born in the water at home after a short labor (4 intense hours). I'm in love and feel much more relaxed than last time so I can enjoy it. 3.5 yo ds Finn is struggling through the addition but I'm hoping that will settle down soon

Angie, Mama to Finn (6/01) and Theo (4/05)

Congrats to you and Theodore, Angie! I loved laboring in water, too.

ok a little late here ..

estlin was born at home on 4/19/05
9 lbs, 6 oz.
we joke that he stayed in long enough (9 days past "due date") to beat his sister who was 9 lbs, 3 oz.
this birth was 2.5 hours of active labor as opposed to the 28 hours of active labor for my daughter 3 years ago. i was expecting different .. but wow!

this was a beautiful birth, beautiful boy. so wonderful to have my daughter there to experience his birth. now we just need to figure out how to help her with this difficult transition ....
