No antidepressant has ever worked for me (and I've tried them ALL), I have what's called 'paradoxal reactions' - they give the opposite effect of what's intended. Anti-anxieties cause panic attacks, anti-depressants cause depression, etc... : occassionally I try again just to see. I've been off pills for years now and doing well, but I tried Zoloft again about a year back, and went on a low dose of half a 37.5mg pill I believe.

This is pretty personal, but the side effects it gave me were sexual, but not in the way you'd think. I had no libido, but felt 'engorged' 24/7 - it was so uncomfortable and very painful. I couldn't even sit without hurting, it was awful. I took gingko biloba for it (taking 60-80mg three X daily can get rid of sexual side effects that antidepressants cause, worked for DH on Paxil and a dozen other people I've reccomended it to) but it didn't get rid of it completely. Intercourse started to be so painful that I couldn't stand it (and we were TTC at the time). I lasted about two weeks before it was just too awful, and I stopped taking Zoloft. I was better off without it.

I feel for you teapot. I can't imagine being one of the tiny portion of the population that antidepressants don't work for. I'd be dead right now if they hadn't worked for me. Have you tried some of the older tricyclics or the MAOIs?

I feel for you TOO. Poor thing.

I'd be dead, literally, without me medication.

Keep trying there are a lot of new meds out there. Try someold ones too.
