How much did you start at?

How much are you taking now if you're currently on it, and how do you feel?

What is/was your "theraputic" dose?

I am on prozac. At first I was on 20 mg and I had bad panic attacks at fist for about 10 days. Then one day I started feeling better. After about 3 months, I took myself off the med for about 3 months. BAD idea. Do not ever do that. I then began having horrible post-partum psycosis-type problems. SO, finally I got back to the dr and got back on 20 mg. That was about 6 weeks ago. I was still having really bad PPD problems. SO I went back to the dr and got my prozac increased to 40mg. Within 24 hrs I felt like I have not felt in years. I have felt so good ever since then and that was about a month ago. I hope that you can find this same kind of relief.

Good luck!

thank you for your reply. That gives me hope about increasing my dose. I started at 10mg, noticed a difference, increased to 20mg, then I feel like I kind of backtracked and the rage has been coming back, so maybe the psych will recommend increasing and seeing what happens then.

Hi Michelle, I have been on Prozac for awhile starting at a quarter dose and progressing up slowly because I'm really sensitive to meds. It has helped tremendously. I too found that sometimes I had these backslides and then we'd increase the dosage.

Right now I'm on 25 mg, that seems to be an okay place for me. Any higher and the side effects (dizziness, depersonalization) are too great. This seems okay but if I don't sleep enough then I feel a slide back.

Best wishes and keep us posted.

Well, I'm feeling good on the 40mg. And Emese'sMom, thanks for adding that about the sleep. I hadn't been getting great sleep, and notice a big difference in how I function throughout the day. Thanks for the reminder. K, off to bed I go now.
