okay, I have to add to this discussion. Not to sound contrary, but I have been wondering how much the placenta is changed by heating it to dehydrate it. Also by how some people emulsify it, if that changes it chemically at all.
I chopped mine up when it was fresh into 'alpo' sized chunks (as my husband called them) and froze them in batches on a cookie sheet and then threw them into freezer bags. Everyday since, I've taken 1 or 2 of those pieces and cut them into smaller, pill sized chunks and swallow them with water when i take my vitamins. No mess, no taste, no fuss.
I feel like the fact that my PPD is starting now is directly related to running out of my placenta supplements.
