Can anyone help me recall the word whose definition is someone who continually mispronounces a word despite having been educated about the correct pronunciation?

It has an m and an f. I need to write it down.

Oh, and mercurial is a favorite.

Bucolic is one of my fave words.
I like surreptitiously too.
My favorite non-word is catywompous. I made it up or heard it when I was little. I know it to mean when everything is crazy, messed up and screwy- catywompous.

Oh, but one of my LEAST favorite words is panty. It makes me cringe.

One more thing.....
Although panty is one of my least favorite words, I love gusset, which is the cotton crotch panel in the panty. I like that word so much that my DH and I have a little band ( the two of us ) called Gusset.
Reading back that paragraph, I am having feelings about the word crotch. that is an interesting one too.

I think superfluous may be one of my all time faves. I use it a lot. I mean all the time I get a lot of quizzical looks when I do. Oh!- quizzical!

facetious is another favorite. As well as
feculent
and recrimination. I like the way it rolls... re-cri-min-aaa-tion...

it is quite gratifying, to peruse the recogitation (a bit of a malapropism here) of the thread. How's about promulgate and recidivism or perhaps promulgating recidivism...tsk tsk.

Christina has nailed it!!! An Epiphany INDEED!!! This thread is a recurrent epiphany! Mellifluous, Mama C. that's a good'n. Sara, a total miss for me on the sequipedalian definition...send me a bill for the tuition on that one, I missed it by a country mile.(that's what I get for guessing rather than looking it up

What about convoluted, draconian and illusory? Been feeling sorta convoluted lately, you could imagine, dealing with my draconian ex husband...our love seems to be rather illusory
