I just got introduced to the writing world by an ad that came to my home the other day for copywriting. I had never looked into something like that, but am open to learning about anything that can bring in some extra income for my family and can be done from home. I'm a current student going for my first bachelors degree in marketing management. (kind of long story as to why.) I don't have any experience in that field, and did not plan on going into that field when I finish. It was more for an 'in case needed' type thing, and because I want to have a business for myself one day figured that marketing would be a good thing to know. So anyways, what do I need to know about having an at home writing career? What websites/books can teach me about the field? Where can I find out about the different types of writing I can do from home? Is any school experience needed? I know there are some very knowledgeable mamas here :

You can do almost any type of writing at home. A lot of research can be done on the internet. Writing for internet does not often pay brilliantly, but you usually get paid fast. Writing short articles for internet is something some people can do during a couple od nursing sessions.

There are a lot of useful threads here. If you live in the US, you could start by writing for Associated Content:

Otherwise you could look at Suite101:

Here is another useful one:

This one is for people starting to freelance:

Good luck! If you have anymore specific questions, feel free to ask.

Well, I'm in all of those threads.

AC is okay, I haven't tried out Helium or Suite 101.

Just jump in and start asking!

If you need any help with AC, we have a monthly thread!
